A personal trainer gives you motivation, expert guidance, safety, and faster results than training on your own. Anyone can buy equipment, but most people lack the knowledge to train effectively or the accountability to stay consistent. At Move Your Mountain, we monitor your form, program around your goals — weight loss, strength, injury recovery, endurance — and keep an eye on the habits outside the gym that make or break your progress. Clients typically notice better sleep, more strength and stamina, less stress, and more confidence within weeks of consistent training.
Look for a nationally recognized certification (such as ACE, NASM, or ACSM) or a degree in the field — not just a weekend course. Just as important: find a trainer whose approach matches your values, who you genuinely enjoy working with, and who starts with a real fitness assessment and medical history rather than a cookie-cutter plan. A good trainer keeps sessions varied and engaging so you look forward to them every week.
Your Fitness Assessment is a roughly hour-long first session where we get to know your movement history, prior injuries, medical background, daily activity, stress levels, and goals. It includes some light physical movement so we can see how your body actually moves, which lets us build a program that’s custom to you rather than a generic template.
Small Group Premium Membership caps at 4 clients per session — it’s still fully coached and personalized to each person, just not a class. 1:1 Private Training reserves your own slot with Stephanie, with three tiers based on how many sessions you want per week. If you’re not sure which fits your goals and schedule, we’re happy to walk you through it.
Memberships bill monthly on the 1st — there’s no per-session pricing. This keeps your training consistent and lets us plan your programming around a full month at a time rather than one-off sessions.
We offer one medical pause per year, for up to 60 days, with 30 days’ written notice. It’s there for injury, illness, or other medical needs so you don’t lose your spot while you recover.
Both. Alongside memberships and private training, we offer Chair Yoga, Pilates with Steph, and Cardio Abs with Steph for clients who want a class format.
Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 12 Noon, with all other times available by appointment. The easiest way to start is a Fitness Assessment — reach out through our Contact page or call (626) 447-1049 and we’ll get you scheduled.
